On July 8, 2024, Mr. Sahakarn Petchnarin, Director-General of Department of Corrections, inaugurated over the opening of “Hab Phoei Cafe by Klang Chiang Rai” at Chiang Rai Central Prison. Other than serving good quality coffee and other flavored drinks, this cafe has another purpose of fostering inmates a vocational training in cafe setup, as an implementation of Mr. Sahakarn’s Join Forces, Transform, Make Difference in Corrections Mission on 5th Facet – Promoting Education and Vocational Training in Respond to Labor Market Demands and 8th Facet – Developing Effective Administration System for Corrections Mission. He was warmly welcomed by Mr. Passapong Jaiklongklaew, Director of Chiang Rai Central Prison, and the directors of Region 5 prisons and the institution officers, along with several leaders of government agencies in Chiang Rai Province, who also attended the cafe opening ceremony.
