On July 31, 2024, Mr. Sahakarn Petchnarin, Director-General of Department of Corrections, inaugurated over the opening of Sing Buri Provincial Prison product shop. He was welcomed by Mr. Wirat Phromnoi, Director of Sing Buri Provincial Prison, and the prison officers. The opening ceremony was also attended by Region 1 prisons and correctional institutions Directors, along with several leaders of government agencies in Sing Buri Province, and local civil society organization members, who came to congratulate the prison and the DOC in this occasion.
In the ceremony, Mr. Wirat explained the prison product shop’s objectives, to showcase the product of prisoner vocational traning programs of various skill jobs, to garner income for working inmates, as well as publicizing the result of the DOC mission, proving that inmates can be reintegrate back into the society, that they can sustain themself and their familes by working in professions after the conclusion of their sentences, in adherence to the Director-General’s 8 Facets policy.
The sameday, at 2 P.M., Mr. Sahakarn arrived at Uthai Thani Provincial Prison to inaugurate over its “หับเผย by อุทัยธานี” Hab Phoei Cafe and “ล้างทำความสะอาดรถยนต์ เรือนจำจังหวัดอุทัยธานี” car care services. He was welcomed by Mrs. Phanida Wongsirirangsri, Director of Uthai Thani Provincial Prison, and the prison officers. This event was also attended by Mr. Theeraphat Khatchamad, Governor of Uthai Thani Province, Mr. Sonthichai Janpanich, Chief Judge of the Uthai Thani Provincial Court, Deputy Commander of Uthai Thani Provincial Police, Region 6 prisons and correctional institutions Directors, and leaders of government agencies in Uthai Thani Province.
Mr. Sahakarn then went on to inspect the prison facilities, including Phrompanya Library and both male and female wing. The prison also prepared live music, performed by To Be Number One Project inmates. He also delivered an encouraging speech and administrative directions to the prison officers, aiming to furtherly improve the operation of the prison, and instructed and encourage inmates to comply to prison order and maintain good discipline.
