“On 8th October 2019, Pol.Col.Naras Savestanan, Director General of the Department of Corrections presided over the opening ceremony of the volunteering activity conducting improvement of landscapes under the project called “Good Deeds from the Heart” in tribute to the Late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX and in line with the Royal Initiatives by His Majesty the King Maha Vajiralongkorn with the intention to foster unity and collaboration among the public from all walks of life and to encourage them to carry out public services that benefit others without expecting anything in return which will contribute to love and a deep bond within the 4 Royal institutes : Nation, Religion, Monarchy and the People.

In accordance with the Royal Initiative Project, the Department of Corrections carried out the project, namely, “Good Deeds from the Heart of the DOC Development Volunteers” in collaboration with the government agencies in Nonthaburi province, and the volunteers in the area including DOC officials and prisoners with a total number of over 500 participants by doing the public service at Bangpraektai temple, Nonthaburi province and at the Department of Corrections building. The purposes of joining the project are to improve the surrounding landscape and to ingrain the awareness of cleanliness and the preservation of Buddhist sites which are regarded as an area for public use. It also promotes merit making activity in tribute to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the anniversary of his departure on October 13th.”
