On 26th July 2022, the Department of Corrections hosted a ceremony to transfer a Dutch inmate at Bangkwang Central Prison. On this occasion, Mr.Yuthana Nakruengsri , Director of the Bangkwang Central Prison, Representative of the Department, alongside Mr. Wilhelmus Bernardus Franssen, Head of Consul and Internal Affairs, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, are the official representatives in surrendering the prisoner and returning him to serve his remaining sentence in the Netherlands. Being the fifth transferral of the year, the transfer ceremony is in accordance with the Treaty between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of the Netherlands on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons and on Co-operation in the Enforcement of Penal Sentences. We trust that serving sentence in the homeland could facilitate family visits and better rehabilitation.
