On 11th October 2019, Pol.Col. Naras Savestanan, Director General of the Department of Corrections, together with the executive members, the Superintendents, the Directors of Correctional Institutions, and the officials participated in the ceremony on the occasion of the 104th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Corrections and paid tribute to the monument of King Vajiravdh, King Rama VI to honour his action on passing the Act on the Establishment of Department of Corrections marking 13th October as the date of Department’s establishment.
On the same day, the ceremony of presenting awards to the DOC officials with excellent performances was also held along with the exhibition on the successful rehabilitation schemes as last year the Department of Corrections had achieved its goals with great success, receiving many awards such as “Role Model for a Smoke – Free Thai Society Award”, “NACC Integrity Award”, “Excellent Public Financial Management on Procurement Award” and many other awards of which the Correctional Department officials are immensely proud as they resulted from the Department officials’ utmost efforts and perseverance. In this connection, the Department of Corrections would like to extend its gratitude towards both public and private agencies for their continuous support, enabling the Department to complete the mission on social integration successfully.
