On June 18, 2024, at 10 A.M., Dr. Netdao Yang-Ubon, Director of the Sustainable Local Innovation Center, Prince of Songkla University (Pattani Campus), with the associated officer, paid a courtesy call to Mr. Sahakarn Petchnarin, Director-General of Department of Corrections, at the DOC HQ. They were welcomed by Mr. Sahakarn, Mrs. Warissara Sirisuthidecha, Director of the Rehabilitation Division, along with Mrs. Chanthima Uiyyasathian, Director of the Education Support Sub-division.
For this occasion, a meeting between 2 organizations was held in order to discuss on improving the approach of inmate education operation, with the purpose of transforming this operation to be more flexible and adaptive to the diverse contexts of inmates background and settings of correctional facilities, in line with the updated Minister of Justice policy.
For the policy implementation, the Department of Corrections has been simultaneously focused on improving multiple aspects of inmate education, from organization administration to course and instructor development, and is set to carry out this operation on 3 Southern border provinces.
