On June 24, 2024, Mr. Sahakarn Petchnarin, Director-General of the Department of Corrections, arrived at Nakhon Pathom Central Prison to preside over Nakhon Pathom Central Prison’s achievement in receiving the Good Manufacturing Product (GMP) Certification for Mass Catering from the National Food Institute (NFI). The prison was recognized by the NFI for its exemplary standards in food preparation, with strict adherence to quality and safety guidelines.
Mrs. Yupa Jaiboon, Director of Food Manufacturing Industry Development Section and Acting President of the NFI, accompanied by NFI officers, attended the ceremony to present the GMP certification to Mr. Sahakarn and Mr. Kwanchai Santiparapop, Director of Nakhon Pathom Central Prison. The event was also attended by Nakhon Pathom Central Prison officers and directors from several Region 7 prisons and correctional institutions, who came to congratulate Mr. Sahakarn and Mr. Kwanchai on this great honor.
Following the ceremony, Mr. Kwanchai guided Mr. Sahakarn, Mrs. Yupa, NFI officers, and directors from Region 7 prisons and correctional institutions through the prison’s food preparation procedures, demonstrating the operation from the storing of raw food to the booths showcasing ready-to-eat meals.
