12 July of 2024 was the day of the conclusion of Upskill Training for Thai DOC Trainer Course, which took place between 24 June to 12 July 2024 at United Kingdom.

From the earlier launch of the collaboration between HM Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) and Department of Corrections, one aspect is to improve correctional operation. This course was organized by HMPPS to help develope 3 skills essential for correctional operation trainers including: Establishing Suitable Environment for Prisoner Rehabilitation, Restorative Justice, and Five-Minute Intervention (FMI), focusing on good interaction with inmates and trainer technique upskilling, to 5 Thai correctional officers, who were selected for their great potential in officer training and will have the opportunities to share the knowledge and skills they acquired from this course to further improve the correctional operation of the DOC in the near future.

On the occasion of the course’s graduation ceremony, arranged by HMPPS, aired from the UK, 5 aforementioned officers had all graduated and received the graduation certificates. DOC executives, Pol. Col. Shane Karnjanapach, Deputy Director-General of Department of Corrections (Academic) Mr. Narong Juisuey, Deputy Director-General of Department of Corrections (Administration), Mr. Charn Wachradech, Deputy Director-General of Department of Corrections (Development), Mrs. Kanokwan Chiwchuapan, Director of Penology Division, and associated officers from Correctional Staff Training Institutute and Penology Division, attended the ceremony online to congratulate them, whom also took an opportunity to share the knowledge and experience they acquired from the course to the DOC executives and other attendees of the ceremony.
